Gîtes de France
In Brittany there are over 7,000 ‘Gîtes de France’ establishments, including gîtes (rural self-catering holiday rentals), B&Bs, children’s gîtes, gîtes for groups and hostellers, chalet villages and campsites. And every one is different!
In sharp contrast to the impersonal, standardised interior of many hotels, our gîtes have all been furnished and decorated to the owner’s individual taste – and all offer a warm, personal welcome. In the forest of Brocéliande or on the Crozon peninsula, in the Monts d'Arrée mountains or the Bigouden region, your hosts will be your best possible guides to help you discover the region they love.
Because everyone is different, every Brittany Gîte de France is different too
In our family gîtes, and gîtes for groups and hostellers, you’ll be able to get together with friends or family - around the fire after a walk in Huelgoat forest, or maybe in the kitchen after a visit to the market held on Dinan’s Place Duguesclin. The perfect holiday – free to do as you please in attractive surroundings.
If you like making new friends, then a B&B is a great choice, because here you can chat with your hosts or the other guests over a delicious pancake or sea-food platter – and you’re sure to ask for the recipe for that delicious home-made ‘far breton’ (traditional Breton dessert)!
Classified accommodation (ears of corn)
‘Gîtes de France’ allocates the ‘épi’ (ear of corn) symbol to all its members, the number of ‘épis’ telling you what level of comfort you can expect. The classification takes into account architecture and surroundings, level of comfort, interior decor and services offered.
Quality charter
All our members have signed up to the provisions of the Gîtes de France quality charter.
