Forget all your preconceived ideas about municipal campsites – the one at Lokournan is quite different!
The Camping Municipal de Lokournan, is close to Saint-Renan (‘Lokournan’ in Breton), just 15km from Brest. It opens its gates from 1 June to 15 September. Privacy is important, and the shady pitches here, surrounded by trees, help enormously. Inside the campsite, all is calm and peaceful, far from the hubbub of the town. The campsite provides entertainment and Saint-Renan itself has plenty to offer, on a pleasant stroll through its streets. There are also sign-posted walks for discovering the local heritage, exhibitions, beaches and the Côte des Légendes (Legends' Coast). Brest itself is not too far away either. The campsite is also an ideal starting point for the many coastal footpaths along the sculpted dunes and coast of the Iroise sea.
