The Camping Municipal de l’Etang aux Biches is a relaxing, unpretentious place to stay, located right in the heart of the Landes de Lanvaux area above Vannes and Auray.
The municipal campsite of the little village of Trédion nestles in a leafy green spot on a granite crest of rock thick with woodland in a landscape dotted with standing stones. This partly shaded location on the south shore of the Etang aux Biches Lake has forty or so plots for tents and caravans as well as a little camper-van area. This is a great place for a relaxing stop along the ‘route des plages’ (beach route) of South Brittany. Fishing enthusiasts love the really peaceful atmosphere here on the paths around the lake. You’re free to make the most of the tennis courts, the children’s games area and the boules pitch set out on the neighbouring plot of land. There’s a gorgeous 15th Century chateau on the approach to the village as well as a number of hiking paths where you can step back in time to an era of standing stones, prehistoric covered walkways and dolmens, all of which are scattered throughout this part of Brittany.
