The lake Drennec
A découvrir :
The artificial lake Drennec, situated between Commana and Sizun, mesures about 110 hectares. This genuine paradise for trout-fishers also hosts a water sports center. During the summer, the setting provides a well-appreciated, cool oasis in the heart of the Monts d'Arrée, thanks to the wooded hills that border the lake. In winter, when the site belongs to nature, migrating birds stop here for a rest. On the way back from a hike along the ridges, strollers will be enchanted by the stillness of these beautiful landscapes. The lake reflects the foliage of the elms and poplar trees bordering the edges of its blue waters, ideal for angling. Due to the clearness and the wealth of water plants, trout are particularly attracted by this lake. It is fed by a stream called Mougau, and the river Elorn, that has its source in the heart of a peat-bog in the Monts d'Arrée. Visit the House of the lake, “Maison du Lac” at the feet of the dam that informs and heightens public awareness of the preservation of the water's and landscape's quality. In Sizun, the House of the river, “Maison de la Rivière” is a treasure trove of information concerning anything flying, crawling, running or swimming in this fragile environment: at the end of the visit, you'll know everything about the life cycle of the otter, the salmon, and the kingfisher. A hiking path of about 8 kilometers goes all around the lake, for a delightful walk along the wooded shores. http://www.pnr-armorique.fr ![]() Y Boelle -
