Les Coquecigrues
21 January to 28 May 2012, Ille-et-Vilaine, Morbihan and Loire-Atlantique
This children’s festival marks the end of long, cold winter days spent in front of the television. From January to May, you can take your kids to shows for little ones or teenagers, in unusual or remarkable sites throughout Brittany.
For 2012, Les Coquecigrues is putting on 19 shows for kids. From Berceuse, a lyrical singing show open to everyone to Le Grandiloquent Moustache Poésie Club for teens aged 14+, there is something for all ages and for all tastes. To add to the magic, these plays, concerts, storytelling and cinema showings will take place in venues as diverse as churches, in ports and even in castles!
On the agenda every Sunday: a guided tour of the venue kicks things off at 3pm, followed by a show for children aged 7+ at 4pm and then two shows for little ones up to the age of 7 at 4pm and 5.10pm – topped off with teatime for all.
Les Coquecigrues, so called after Rabelais’ imaginative bird in Gargantua, will be spreading its wings across Ille-et-Vilaine from 22 January to 25 March, passing by Savenay in Loire-Atlantique on 1 April 2012, flying in and around Vannes from 4 March to 8 April before finishing its flight of fancy in style on the Rhuys peninsula and at Suscinio castle on 26, 27 and 28 May.
