At the crossroads of the Cap Sizun, Pays Bigouden and Pays de Douarnenez areas, Mahalon reveals its riches little by little with its network of trails, windmills and lakes, country houses and chapels, woods and prairies, calvaries and fountains. Stroll around the lake at Pouguidou, take a family day out to see the horses at the Goyen equestrian centre, learn how to play a host of traditional Breton games (‘boultenn’, ‘galoche sur billot’, ‘palets sur planche’, ‘birinig’, ‘kilhoù kozh’, Breton bowls…etc.) Feeling hungry? The traditional bakery-cum-biscuit factory in Kerest welcomes visitors: different types of bread and working methods, tasting of various kinds of Breton produce (‘palet’ biscuits and ‘kouing-aman’ cake), visit the cider factory at Tromelin farm, or one of the many village farms.
