THE rendez-vous for international directors and choreographers, Mettre en Scène has become a crossroads for both dance and theatre. Originating in Rennes, this festival, which takes place every year in November, has now stretched further afield to include Brest, Vannes, Quimper and Lannion.

We’ve lost count of the number of curtain calls that have been taken at the Théâtre National de Bretagne, and in the festival’s other venues in Rennes, Brest, Vannes, Quimper and Lannion. Mettre en Scène, an international gathering of choreographers and theatre directors, has already presented an incredible number of exclusive live shows, often subversive and impromptu. Every year in November, the avant-garde from the field of international dance and theatre - Rodrigo Garcia, François Verret, Stanislas Nordey, Martial di Fonzo Bo, Christine Le Tailleur, etc., gather together in Brittany for this event. And the public is testimony to its success, coming from far and wide to test the waters before heading for that Mecca of the theatre world, the Avignon Festival.
