Base Nautique Roi Morvan Communauté
Etang du Bel Air
The Pays du Roi Morvan Watersports Centre has its headquarters in the commune of Priziac, in the Department of Morbihan. Here you can practise kayaking on calm stretches of water in a lush, green setting. The aim is to combine exploring the natural environment with acquiring basic kayaking techniques.
The Etang de Priziac is a vast inland stretch of water which is both reassuringly safe and somewhere different. It's absolutely ideal for kayaking. That's why the Pays du Roi Morvan Watersports Centre has chosen it to run courses of four to five lessons for enthusiasts of all levels, from age eight upwards. Also on offer are walks that include stop-offs to sample local foods, nocturnal bat-watching trips and rental deals. A multi-centre option allows you to practise basic kayaking techniques on four different lakes: the Etang de Priziac, of course, but also the lakes at Langoëlan, Plouray and Langonnet. When the water level allows, you can add a trip down the river Ellé to your boating experience. Canoeing along the Ellé can be in the form of a training course or just a single trip. Whichever option you choose, your instructor will combine discovery with progress in the art of kayaking. “We have a great concern for the environment and we use discovery of the natural world as a learning aid,” explains Eric Le Fauconnier, head of the organisation. It is also his job to welcome groups and to offer other water-based activities, including windsurfing, dinghy and catamaran sailing.
