Sculpture-huts at La Belle Folie

La Belle Folie

A caravan perched on a standing stone? No, you aren’t dreaming! In Ploemel, the huts at La Belle Folie are uniquely designed and won’t fail to surprise you. Here you will sleep in true works of modern art. Built from bio-sourced or recycled materials “Keravan”, “Superpausée” tent, “Cactus” or “Tissée” houses are all nestled at the heart of a small wood, just a few minutes from the beaches of Quiberon bay. La Belle Folie also has a restaurant with set menus. It offers simple local dishes to be enjoyed under a large glass house where banana trees and guava trees grow. Escapism guaranteed!

With the forest as a backdrop, in Domaine de Treuscoat

Domaine du Treuscoat

A forest immersion at Domaine de Treuscoat in Pleyber-Christ. Half-way between Morlaix bay and Monts d’Arrée, the site offers three types of unusual accommodation on 48 hectares of wood listed as a protected natural area. You can choose between an Alpine yurt in a clearing, a tree-house, or even a suspended nest in the middle of the trees to really get close to nature. There is no network here! You only connection is with nature. Explore the different trails through the domain. After your walk, you can relax in the sauna! What advantages does the site offer? It has the only Parcabout® (treetop adventures) in Finistère and organises pony rides. Children will love it!

In a Picasso railcar in Lanester

To take a break from everyday routine, next stop: Lanester! Sitting on its railway track, an authentic Picasso railcar from the 50s has been “recycled” into two original lodges. Inside there are leatherette benches, folding tables, luggage stands, bunks, etc. to plunge you into the atmosphere of train journeys. You can even pretend you’re the driver in the raised square-shaped cab. Windows with crank handles from the time open onto a floral garden. Each lodge has its own dining area. But you can also try out the “Cheminot,” or “Première classe” menus at the Auberge du Chemin de Fer, next door.

In a tiny house, in the grounds of Pommorio castle

Château de Pommorio

Castle life, on a reduced scale! Try the tiny house experience, at the heart of the Pommorio property, between Saint-Brieuc and Paimpol. You’ll have 7.5 m² in which to live in one of the 20 tiny-houses on the estate, set up like a little village in the prairie. You’ll want for nothing inside: a lounge, a kitchen corner, a mini bathroom and a mezzanine bed, accessible via a sliding ladder. Made in “Dinard”, these tiny houses are 100% self-sufficient and mobile. Do you want even more peace and quiet? Just have your tiny house rolled to the middle of the woods! Electric bikes are available for you to reach the seaside, just 800 m away.

By the sea or in the Breton countryside? It’s up to you. Are you short on ideas? Nids en escale has come up with five routes for you.

L’Insolite Voyage in Trignac

Marais de Brière

The rustling of the reeds, the lapping of the water… Treat yourself to a bucolic break in the Bière marshes. At the heart of the Brières marshes, stay in an eco-friendly accommodation: magic house, canal-boat, tiny house, fishery on the banks of the Brivet. Solar panels and sustainably managed access to water, plus an open view over the nature park. The view is all the more beautiful as the first pink rays of dawn appear or at dusk with the red shades of the sunset.  Net fishing? Yes, it works! It’s the perfect opportunity to try this traditional fishing method.
