Maritime festivals are first and foremost a hive of activity involving boats from the four corners of the globe, from the mythical sailing ships of yesteryear to the most recent vessels of the French Navy. It's a chance to follow incredible parades, watch races and manoeuvres, climb aboard legendary ships and even take to the seas! The oceans are the link between peoples. This 8th edition will take you on a 5-stop tour of the world, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, from the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean, via the Poles. 5 scenographic spaces to explore the diversity of traditional maritime traditions and construction methods, cultures, music, songs, crafts, gastronomy... A key issue of burning topicality, the ocean, the driving force behind climate change, will be at the heart of Brest 2024. It's an opportunity for scientists to share the fruits of their research and propose meaningful solutions for the future. Old ships, a festive atmosphere, openness to the world and to the challenges of today and tomorrow - that's what Brest 2024 is all about!
