In the extreme south of Audierne Bay, the 'Allons Surfer' school has chosen a legendary location for the sport, one that will set your pulses racing: the Pointe de la Torche.La Torche is one of the best known surfing beaches in Brittany. Sheltered by an unspoilt headland, it allows surfing all year round because of the consistency of the waves and wind speed. It's great fun whether the tide is low or high. In summer, Johan parks his van with its tyres in the sand, as close to the sea as he can get. From the truck, this qualified instructor gives out advice, surf-suits and boards. He can supply them in all sizes from age four upwards. Allons Surfer can provide beginners' and improvers' sessions as private classes – maximum 2 people – or groups – maximum 8 people, or courses lasting from three to five days. Johan tailors his instruction to his pupils' level of expertise and to the sea conditions. Time to clip on your leash...
