  • Come and visit the ‘Armor Lux’ workshops in Quimper and find out about the epic saga of this Breton company, established in 1938.

In 1938, Walter Hubacher created the ‘La Bonneterie d’Armor’ in Quimper, with the aim of making top quality underwear, under the brand name ‘Armor Lux’. In 1970, the brand expanded its production of underwear and fishermen’s sweaters, to include its first collection of ready-to-wear fashions. In 1982, Armor Lux launched a chain of shops and nine years later the company was taken over by two local manufacturers, Guy Le Floch and Michel Gueguen. Today the company makes textiles for the French Post Office, French Railways, Paris Airports, and the French police, as well as manufacturing a range of organic fair-trade cotton products. With the quality of its textiles and the expertise of its dressmakers, the company has achieved international renown. When you leave, you definitely won’t want to buy clothes ‘Made in China’ ever again!
