  • This country restaurant has come a very long way since it was first bought by the grandparents! Yes, 3 generations of Lucas’ have worked as chefs here!

    No need for the cattle truck to fetch customers any more, like it used to in the early days, when the grandparents set up the Auberge de Lucas in 1935. Nowadays customers get here under their own steam - and there are lots of them in this region to the north of Ille-et-Vilaine, where Anne and Pascal Lucas have taken over the kitchens, as the third generation of chefs! The dishes still smell just as good, locally-sourced cuisine, lamb or beef grilled over a wood fire…Rare produce as well such as the ‘gris cendré’, "an old breed of chicken with fleshy meat that tastes of Dol-de-Bretagne". There are lots of vegetables in the dishes too, such as the parsnips which add flavour to the fillet of red mullet with tapenade, or julienne vegetables with pan-fried squid and artichokes…
