  • Although you'll find a lot of keen fly fishermen on rivers, very few practise their sport out at sea. Jump in at the deep end, and with Philippe Dolivet as your guide, discover a very different world.

Brought to the big screen by the Robert Redford film 'A River Runs Through It' (1993), the art of fly fishing can be practised out on the ocean waves as well. Philippe Dolivet, fishing guide, has turned the sport into one of his specialities and hunts sea bass in the bays of Morlaix and Brest. "It's an activity that's truly symbiotic with the world of the sea," explains this fishing fanatic, who has a specially modified boat (very shallow draught) with an engine powered by electricity so as not to frighten the fish. "Every sea bass that we catch is put back into the sea as a matter of course. Fishing is just a pretext for discovering the wonders of nature." This activity, available from the beginning of July through to October, includes the loan of equipment and a picnic lunch of local organic produce, and is intended for experienced fly fishermen.
