  • Close to the Cancale oyster-beds, and with unrivalled sea views (on a fine day you can even see Mont-St-Michel) this crêperie and ice-cream restaurant, where everything is home-made and cooked to order, offers the unique combination of oysters on a buckwheat pancake, among other tasty dishes.

For the last six years, Ty Skorn has been a well-kept secret in Cancale that has attracted a faithful clientele. "This 19th century stone building really won me over,” explains Marianne, a native of Rennes. A small terrace and garden complete the maritime decor in which she prepares her 100% buckwheat batter. The flour is stone-milled in the traditional way, while the vegetables and cold meats come from organic or sustainable farming. The restaurant’s popular dishes include the “Biquette du meunier” (goat's cheese, bacon, tomatoes, home-made goat’s-milk ice-cream, with salad and honey), and sweet buckwheat galettes (with caramelised apples, or chocolate); once you’ve tried them, you'll keep coming back for more! If you’re in a hurry, you'll appreciate the takeaway service. Oh, and don't forget to try the restaurant’s “Celtic kir”: 'pommeau' (apple juice with brandy), Champagne, Cassis and a mystery ingredient that makes all the difference!
