  • Michelle brings the best of Brittany to her Les Fougères crêperie: scallops, mouclade au chouchen (mussels with Breton mead), 'kig ha farz' (traditional Breton pork stew). And she's been doing it for 20 years now!

Michelle Saout Caross has just celebrated 20 years running the Fougères crêperie in Pleyber-Christ. She didn’t wait to get the Crêperie Gourmande classification before producing the best of Breton cuisine! Whether she’s in the kitchen or in the dining-room, Michelle keeps an eye on everything. The crêpes are cooked in front of the customer who can enjoy eating while the children have fun colouring. So what will the customer be eating? Well, for example, it might be a Baie de Morlaix, scallops cooked and sautéed with garlic, shallots, white wine and cream. A Breton mouclade, with mussels cooked in Breton mead. Or there’s the Norman crêpe with caramelised apples… then there’s a kig ha farz, a traditional Breton pork stew, but you have to order that in advance and it feeds 20 people; there are some who come from far and wide to eat their fill of it. There are top-quality ciders, pink onions from Roscoff, fresh farm eggs, local honey, and much more. It’s been happening for 20 years and it’s far from over. Good news for gourmets!
