No more excuses for not visiting the Fleurs d’Ajonc, located at Pleurtuit near Dinard. The sea’s not far away, but we’re still in the countryside here and the premises are scattered with farming tools; a scythe, a hay rack for animals…“I love the rustic authenticity of Breton crêperies”. It oozes from the walls here just as it does from the generous servings of seafood galettes (savoury buckwheat pancakes) with diced salmon, scallops, prawns, mussels and samphire, all served in a Riesling sauce, with pink peppercorns and diced carrot brunoise. Or the gourmet butter wheat crêpe with gingerbread ice cream, vanilla sauce, preserved fruit, home-made Chantilly cream and gingerbread.
