The best Breton crêpes - homemade using the finest Breton ingredients. This is the philosophy at Galichan in Sarzeau. And sometimes happiness can be found in the simplest of things…"I am proud of all of the galettes and crêpes that we serve here," says Patricia Hivart when asked about her crêperie's most special dishes. "If I really had to pick one, I would say the 'Sternec', because this galette embodies our philosophy," which is about serving homemade dishes made with top quality, Breton products. So what does the 'Sternec' have in it? "Homemade foie gras, flavoured with Breton pommeau and garnished with caramelised Roscoff onions and salad leaves." A delicious, savoury treat which is followed perfectly by the 'Gourmande', a crêpe with apples cooked in butter, salted butter caramel, vanilla ice cream and almonds. Located in Sarzeau, the Galichan crêperie with its 130 covers, including 30 on the terrace, changes a number of its recipes every fortnight "to follow the seasons." An indication of the quality that is also evident in the choice of ingredients which include PGI status Pontivy buckwheat, sausage produced in Sarzeau and smoked salmon from Arzon.
