  • This lively little town in Morbihan, the birthplace of Yves Rocher, is also famous for its photography festival. If you’re keen on lines, shapes and colours, then you’ll also enjoy the artistic preparation that goes into the galettes (buckwheat pancakes) and crêpes of the Mouchoir de Poche; they’re always wonderful and delicious!

Over the last ten years since they decided to settle in Brittany to be closer to their roots, Brigitte and Jean have attracted tens of thousands of ‘galettes addicts’. “Last year”, says, Brigitte, who manages the place, “we sold over 25,000! “ What’s the secret of their success? “It’s all about keeping it close to home. The apples and eggs are all produced within a radius of 5 km; the homemade cold meats come from the Gallo area, and the organic cider is brewed in Lizio. Customers can taste the difference straight away”. The filet mignon Sindar, served with a cider sauce, is preserved ‘in-house’ as is the salmon gravlax that is served as part of ‘L’Aboyeur’ (galette with salmon, leek fondue or spinach, cream and salad), with its slices delicately arranged in the shape of a flower on top of the galette. With its covered terrace, its fireplace, white, sloping ceiling and recent redecoration, you’ll feel completely at home from the start!
