  • Détour d’Art opens the door of religious buildings to shed a light on the history and treasures of the religious architecture of the Pays d’Auray.

Every year, Détour d’Art grabs its pilgrim staff to roam through the countryside in search of religious architectural treasures. At the turn of a path, in the heart of a village or in full nature, religious buildings open their doors to reveal masterpieces registered as monuments of historical interest. Unassuming or majestic, no less than 23 buildings from the 13th to 20th Century lend themselves to independent visits or guided tours, classical or religious concerts or family treasure hunts. Among those are the Sainte-Anne basilica in Auray, the monastery of La Chartreuse and the chapel of Sainte-Avoye. From Roman art to more contemporary touches, there are buildings to cater for all styles, periods and ages. Most of the activities take place during the summer festival. But right from the start of Spring, Détour d’Art offers a rich programme of activities which takes you back in time.
