Still and old bottles
Crafts and technical visits
Throughout a guided tour in the distillery du Plessis, at the entrance of the town of Quimper, you will learn the traditional brewing secrets of the alcoholic beverages of Brittany followed by their tasting. For nearly forty years, the Seznec family has been perpetuating the distillers’ tradition. Located on the grounds of a 12th century fortified castle, the domain produces a wide range of typical alcoholic beverages of Brittany. Local traditions and heritage are closely followed when producing liqueurs, aperitifs such as pommeau or chouchen, ciders eaux-de-vie such as lambig as well as home specialities namely the maritime pastis or the Algane Ocean (an appetizer consisting of a bitter orange maceration and an alga concentrate). The distillery provides free guided tours for up to ten people with no booking necessary. Isabelle will guide you through the alleys of the Still Museum. Unique in Brittany, the place exhibits pieces from all around France, some of which are extremely rare specimens. This is an opportunity to learn all about the job of distillers, its history and all the steps required to produce alcohol before sampling the result; in moderation, of course.
