Astropolis, one of the summer's big techno music festivals, added a winter version in January 2012, and, from now on, the coming of winter means that Brest is soon to be tossed on a huge electronic wave, that's great fun for all ages.

It all started in the 1990s, when Brest decided to stage the first Astropolis techno music festival, a kind of rave-olution that went full speed ahead in some of Brest's leading venues. But that wasn't enough for Finistère's many techno fans, so, having electrified the crowds every summer for years, in January 2012 Astropolis decided to find out if it could blow people's minds in the winter too. But that wasn't enough for Finistère's many techno fans, so, having electrified the crowds every summer for years, in January 2012 Astropolis decided to find out if it could blow people's minds in the winter too. And the answer was a resounding YES, particularly as the winter version was much more all-embracing. As well as a line-up hot enough to melt an ice-floe, there are in-depth workshops on composing techno music, an astroparty for younger fans, musical cookery lessons for people with disabilities, etc. So it may be mid-winter, but these DJs will put a real spring in your step!
