Festival du chant de marin

Festival du chant de marin et des musiques des mers du monde : Destination Québec !

Hear sailors' sea shanties
Festival, Maritime Festivals, World Music, Cultural, Traditions and folklore in Paimpol
  • Every two years, 100,000 revellers get ready to transform the quayside into a sea of life and festivity. This musical and nautical festival is homage to all sailors in all the ports all over the world. That's as good a reason as any to get your sea-legs on and get down to the port in Paimpol.

Past destinations for inspiration include the Baltic sea, the banks of the River Nile and the Cape of Good Hope, with artists like Marianne...

The Côtes d'Armor festival, loved by so many, continues to surf on its fans’ remarkable enthusiasm, taking advantage of each edition to set sail to discover new horizons. Past destinations for inspiration include the Baltic sea, the banks of the River Nile and the Cape of Good Hope, with artists like Marianne Faithfull, Carlos Nunez, Toure Kunda and Goran Bregovic pulling in the crowds. Some may have heard of Cocos de Paimpol, the town's speciality (a type of haricot bean); however in August people come to admire something else: the display of old sailing ships and the sound of sea shanties - what could be more enjoyable?
