If you had to sum this place up, you’d say it’s like being ‘at home’. On Saint-Malo’s promenade, facing the sea and 10 minutes’ walk from the town’s fortifications, this three-storey building looks like a seaside holiday residence of yesteryear. The simple, uncluttered decoration, in shades of brown, beige and red, uses leather and wooden features to create a warm impression. The sea-facing bar is open until 1am and the reception 24 hours a day. Board games are available to enjoy with your family and there’s a little south-facing garden sheltered by a high stone wall, which is a pleasant place to unwind away from the town’s crowds. The breakfast buffet is generous and varied, “we have tortillas, crêpes, cheese, cold meats, fresh fruit and local items such as Saint-Paulin cheese or craquelins” - traditional little crunchy breads particularly well-known in Brittany.
