  • Take a journey through one of the largest collections of endangered plant species in the world.

To save plants threatened with extinction. Since 1975, this has been the mission of the “Conservatoire botanique national de Brest” (Brest National Botanical Conservation Centre). In the gardens, the plants are grouped geographically whilst blending perfectly with the natural vegetation. This gives the gardens a natural charm that is heightened to perfection by the spring flowers and autumn leaves. The journey begins in Armorica (heather from Portugal or cistus from Landerneau), continues with a detour to the Mediterranean (echium from the Canary Islands or euphorbia from Morocco) and Asia (hibiscus from China and Cypress trees from Kashmir), before finishing up in Australia and America (certain species of eucalyptus and magnolia).
