  • In Vitré, the Clé des Champs crêperie is the key to good taste, offering a tempting menu that combines local produce with top-quality cuisine.

Watch out! The only kind of products they serve in the Clé des Champs in Vitré are top-quality! Flour from the Moulin de la Fatigue, farm-fresh pork and butter, both organic, as are the eggs, the cider, either from the Vergers de L’Ille orchards or produced by one of the two Erics, Bordelet or Baron, and freshly bought scallops. After having worked for a long time in La Gavotte in Vitré, Claude Hirlay is giving us the key to good taste in his new crêperie on the outskirts of the historic centre of town. The food here is of very high quality, for example, his seasonal vegetable galette (buckwheat pancake), or his Mourioche crêpe with smoked bacon and onion confit, or the Eukiérou crêpe with Bayonne ham and farm cheese from the Mayenne department. Funny names, you think? Not at all: they’re Gallo (hybrid Breton-French) names. And, what’s more, storytellers and singers from Upper Brittany regularly come to liven up meals in this dining-room with its green and blue decor. When the weather is fine they put the tables outside so that they can dance indoors!
