The Maison de la Baie discovery centre is situated near Hillion on the coastal path called the 'Sentier des Douaniers' (Customs Officers' path), that goes all around the bay. The centre organises many different excursions for all the family, developed around the interdependence of nature in the splendid setting of the bay. Paddling in the muddy sand left by the receding tide, you will get a better understanding of how the seabirds relate to their environment, how the various marine fauna adapt to being left 'high and dry' twice a day, or simply take your binoculars and watch some of the 40,000 birds that visit or live in the bay. If you prefer to stay inside, the centre's museum, with its breathtaking sea views, will take you from the top of the cliffs to the bay's seabed on a voyage through nature in a beautiful setting!
