    Backing onto a 13th century chapel, there could be worse places to enjoy a crêpe! That describes L’Aubépine. And you can really feel the Breton atmosphere in the old stone walls, decorated with saucepans and eggbaskets … Outside it’s cooler, with a terrace facing due south and a lake - it’s a real picture! Wait, there’s more! Yes, the vegetables and fruit are picked nearby and the charcuterie is produced in Finistère… Some buckwheat galettes to start with - garden vegetables and mussels, duck breast, scallops… “We have around twenty different specialities, with a specials board in summer”, Yannick Thomazic and Anne-Marie Compain explain as they put together a little homemade dessert for us including custard, seasonal red fruit, chocolate ganache and a buckwheat tulip …
