Facing the port of La Trinité-sur-Mer, the Bistrot du Marin is the ideal place for grilled fish, but you'll also find produce from inland Brittany on the excellent and varied menu. It’s worth a detour just for the terrace with panoramic views over the port of La Trinité-sur-Mer! That’s surely what Vincent Monnier said to himself when he took over the Ostréa Hotel and its restaurant, the Bistrot du Marin, in 2004. He was fuelled by the idea of “democratising the place, while at the same time maintaining the quality of the produce.” When you have a look at the menu, you just know that the food is going to be good! Whole fish (sole, sea bass, John Dory…) presented at your table before being grilled in the kitchen and served, beautifully cooked, accompanied with seasonal vegetables and sauces on the side. And don’t forget the lobster oil from Groix, cheese from Timadeuc Abbey, and goats cheese made with seaweed; then you have the ‘Label Rouge’ eggs, always a great favourite, served with a truffle cream or langoustine tails… the sea view almost pales into oblivion!
