  • Self-taught chef Laurent Bacquer doesn't mind breaking with tradition and loves to create contemporary and tasty locally sourced dishes.

Potted rabbit in rosemary on fried bread crusts with a whipped carrot and ginger cream, followed by a slab of country bacon, Tio Pepe gravy and butter glazed turnips - those are two of the dishes (the rest of the menu is in the same vein) which sum up Laurent Bacquer’s wonderfully reinvented Breton cuisine. You’ll find him in Rostrenen, in the heart of the welcoming and friendly region of Brittany where, having started off in crêperies, the self-taught chef now offers contemporary, up-to-date cuisine. In fact, his restaurant has that same feel to it, with its uncluttered, modern decor. And if you finish your meal with a salted butter caramel fondant on hazelnut biscuit and jasmine-infused mango, you’ll be in no doubt that L’Eventail des Saveurs serves locally sourced cuisine – with style!
