Whether on the moors or in forests, the Chevaux du vent (Horses of the Wind) company organises intimate encounters with the animal in its natural environment.
What is Claie des Landes? (The Heath’s Hurdle) It consists, primarily, of two environmentally friendly holiday cottages surrounded by a variety of themed gardens and equipped with a meditation pagoda. La Claie des Landes sits like a delicate flower in a corner of unspoilt natural beauty. There, Françoise, an equestrian guide, looks after a herd of six horses with which she is trialling an unusual approach to horse trekking as she explains: “A special encounter to explore our relationship with others, with the world around us and with ourselves.” A step-by-step physical and emotional bonding session with the animal before setting off. “Firstly, we take the time to meet the herd in its natural habitat, to gently care for ourselves and for the animal, to “walk together” in a mindful way so as to fully appreciate the physical healing of the experience.” Françoise organises regular workshops as well as residential stays for groups of children, teenagers and adults. One-to-one or private group sessions are also available by prior appointment.
