The French singer-songwriter tradition is very much alive and kicking at Les Embellies festival in Rennes!"Les Embellies festival in Rennes focuses on singer-songwriters. Known as Les Bar'baries when it was first founded in 1998, in 2006 the festival changed names and gradually began to change genres - a bit folkier, a bit poppier, a bit rockier. The line-ups are a successful combination of unknowns, recognised performers and big names, plus the odd 'must have', and have featured the likes of Lhasa, Thomas Fersen, Arthur H, Philippe Katerine, Emily Loiseau, Juliette, and many more. Les Embellies also supports the local Rennes music scene by offering residencies to the stars of the future.
