At Hilvern Lock, in a rural setting beside the Nantes-Brest Canal, Louarnig Park will introduce you to traditional Breton games. This theme park is accessible to everyone, a place to have fun while discovering a little-known feature of our regional heritage.

This unusual theme park was created by the Brittany Confederation for Traditional Games and Sports and the village of Saint-Gonnery. Here you will find around 30 traditional games that you can join in: bowls, quoits, skittles and trials of strength – all with links to a specific area. For example, Finistère has its boultenn (a type of bowls), whilst Poher has its skittles. When you’ve read the rules – available in French, English, Breton and Gallo – just have a go, armed with your score card. As a group, you could have a tournament and round it off with a tug-of-war. That’s bound to be a laugh! After effort is comfort! There's a picnic site near the lock-keeper’s house. The house also hosts exhibitions devoted to the games, Breton culture, the Hilvern Stream and the Canal.
