  • The Maison du Lac visitor centre, in the heart of the Monts d'Arrée mountains, explains all about electricity and the deconstruction of the Brennilis nuclear power plant.

The nuclear plant at Brennilis was decommissioned 30 years ago. It's currently being dismantled and you can find out how at the Maison du Lac visitor centre, if you fancy a day out with a difference. This vast scientific discovery area (400 sq. m.) has been set up on the site with a wonderful view of Saint-Michel lake. The permanent exhibition is educational and fun, explaining about the history, production, the electricity industry and the different stages in the deconstruction work. The Maison du Lac also organises conferences, events on the topic of energy, and visits to industrial installations. Next to it there's a bird observatory, and also the departure point for a walk that takes you all round the reservoir.
