  • Nicolas Nonnet, an oyster-farmer in Erquy, shares his passion for his job with you in a film on oyster farming in Northern Brittany - tasting included!

Nicolas Nonnet grows his oysters on an oyster farm in Fresnaye bay, just below Fort La Latte. He sells his seafood in the family-run shop in Erquy. But do you know what a spat is? And how are the shellfish actually harvested? In a room just off the shop, an educational film tells you everything there is to know about oysters. The 12-minute video explains all the key stages of oyster farming, as well as talking about the family’s history and regional production. The oyster-farmer and his father are on hand to answer questions from visitors who want to know more. And at the end of the film you can enjoy sampling six delicious oysters with a glass of white wine, buttered bread and fresh lemon. Two sessions are held daily throughout the summer.
