Walking trails everywhere, for everyone!

From steep cliffs and beaches bathed in turquoise waters to the typically French ‘bocage’ landscapes with their patchwork of fields and hedgerows and lovely villages… explore everything that Brittany has to offer, as you follow its 1001 walking trails.

If you like the idea of filling your lungs with fresh air during a walk lasting an hour or a whole day, then try one of the many way-marked, accessible walking trails that lead you through the loveliest parts of Brittany. Whether you want to enjoy the peaceful, magical forests of Broceliande and Huelgoat, or the sea-salt panoramas of the headlands at Pointe du Grouin and the Pointe du Raz - just follow the region’s way-marked trails:  

PR trails (‘Promenades et Randonnées’): go for an hour’s walk – or stay the whole day!

In each part of Brittany, you’ll find these short walks in every natural park and virtually every district. They’re marked with a yellow stripe and suitable for everyone.

GRP hiking trails (‘Grande Randonnée de Pays’): circular hikes

If you’re interested in exploring the Forest of Broceliande, or the St Malo, Morlaix or Vannes areas, then why not try one of these way-marked circular hikes. Marked with a yellow and red stripe, they run for 140 to 200 km, and will take you right to the heart of these very typical parts of Brittany.

The GR hiking trails (‘Grande Randonnée’): follow the red and white lines!

TheSentier des Douaniers (Customs Officers’ footpath) – also known as the GR®34 hiking trail – is a wonderful way to explore Brittany’s loveliest beaches and coastlines. There are also other GR trails that are just as captivating, including theGR® 37and 38hiking trails, that criss-cross the area from east to west, linking Vitré with the Crozon peninsula and Redon with Douarnenez respectively. Then there’s theGR® 39, that snakes its way from Mont Saint-Michel to Guérande, sometimes running alongside the Vilaine river. And don’t forget theGR® 380,that makes its way round the Monts d'Arrée mountains.
