    Jean-Claude Spégagne is the kind of Breton who doesn't get too close the first time you meet – a little reserved, you might say. But then you’ll discover his friendly sharing nature; his restaurant isn’t called Le Bienvenue for nothing! From Quimper originally, he now lives in Roudouallec. His generosity can be felt in his dishes and he excels at his region’s cuisine, embellishing Guéméné sausage with Breton Pommeau (apple liquor) and duckling with a cider reduction. The ‘Montagnes Noires’ menu has interesting combinations like stuffed shellfish with chitterling sausage and Roscoff onions or local country chicken with forgotten vegetables. Not forgetting of course delights like Glénan lobster, wild abalone and the homemade kouign amann. Add to that a touch of Quimper earthenware and the tranquillity of the village and you have a genuine Breton experience.
