On your 'watch' you'll hear all sorts of classic sea shanties, the sailors’ voices carried on a wave over the crowds of music lovers who take over the town once every two years. The Côtes d'Armor festival, loved by so many, continues to surf on its fans’ remarkable enthusiasm, taking advantage of each edition to set sail to discover new horizons. Past destinations for inspiration include the Baltic sea, the banks of the River Nile and the Cape of Good Hope, with artists like Marianne Faithfull, Carlos Nunez, Toure Kunda and Goran Bregovic pulling in the crowds. Some may have heard of Cocos de Paimpol, the town's speciality (a type of haricot bean); however in August people come to admire something else: the display of old sailing ships and the sound of sea shanties - what could be more enjoyable?
