A bord de Morwenna

The Morwenna hoists its sails for a serene river cruise
  • Sailing
Quai Saint-Antoine, Port, 56130 La Roche-Bernard
At its mooring in the heart of Roche-Bernard harbour, the Morwenna is ready to cast off. As the 1968 Carol Ketch sails proudly past the pontoons, one or two of its sails are already unfurled.
Bruno, the skipper, puts all his love and all his skill into maintaining this Iroko wood sailboat, right down to the very last detail. On every trip you will appreciate all the work he and his friends have put into the renovations, as you take the helm, admire the varnished locker under the tiller or go down into the carved wood saloon. Depending on the wind and people's fancy, Morwenna tacks downstream towards "the plain" or sails up the river Vilaine carried by a constant breeze. Out come the organic wines and squashes as you enjoy the beautiful river landscape - or you might prefer to laze in one of the hammocks at the front of the boat, swaying to the rhythm of the waves as you listen to the stories of the sailor sitting on the roof of the deckhouse.
