At its new factory in Penmarc'h, Compagnie bretonne is offering a tour of its facilities to showcase the expertise of an authentic family-run canning factory.

The Furic family has been canning fish for four generations. Don't know what "crimping" and "flowering" are? Then follow the guide! Organised free of charge two or four times a day, depending on the season, the guided tour begins with three films shot in the workshop. You'll be shown how to prepare mackerel, fish soup and seaweed tartar with preserved lemon. Yummy! The tour continues in a gallery overlooking the production unit. This gives a great insight into the working atmosphere and the different trades at work. Then it's time for a tasting session at the counter before strolling into the shop to buy vintage sardines. Or how to combine an industrial visit with a gourmet getaway.
