By creating the world's first buckwheat whisky 20 years ago, the Distillerie des Menhirs de Plomelin has adapted the Scottish tradition to the products of Brittany.
At the Distillerie des Menhirs, we don't make alcohol from standing stones. The Plomelin distillery processes buckwheat and cider apples. These two typical local products are used to make a fine range of quality ciders, eaux-de-vie and whiskies. The family business was responsible for the first pommeau de Bretagne to be awarded a controlled origin. It also produced the world's first buckwheat whisky, Eddu, in the purest Scottish tradition. From stills to oak casks, you can visit the traditional distillery. You can follow the various stages in the production of this nectar. Drink in moderation during the traditional tasting session.
