At the Eclosarium, a multifaceted site on the island of Houat, you can delve into the secret life of the oceans, learn about the history of the island, discover an exhibition or test marine cosmetics.

In the museum part of this marine biotechnology research centre, let yourself be transported into the infinitely small world of the sea. An introductory tour will reveal the fragility and importance of these microscopic algae. They are the true blue lung of the planet, producing two thirds of the earth's oxygen. You will be amazed to learn about all their possible uses, particularly in cosmetology. On the land side, you will learn all about the history of the island of Houat and the life of its inhabitants, from the first archaeological traces to the present day. Before leaving, a quick trip to the shop will give you the opportunity to treat yourself with marine cosmetics or the creations of local craftsmen.
