Come aboard the Escal’Atlantic, a life-size ocean liner in the submarine base of Saint-Nazaire.

Come aboard the Escal’Atlantic, a life-size reconstructed transatlantic ocean liner, unique in Europe. In the 3500 square metres of exhibition space, atmosphere of legendary ships built in Saint-Nazaire is recreated: the Ile de France (1927), the Normandie (1935), the France (1962). Choose your cabin, stroll along the promenade deck, experience the heat and noise of the engine rooms… and prepare yourself for a rough ending to the voyage! Learn about the history of millions of immigrants who travelled in the hold, and the painted lacquered panel by Dunand from the Normandie, called “La Chasse”. Younger visitors can do the tour as the captain, a stowaway or a movie actress. The free games booklet makes the voyage a fascinating treasure hunt.
