Designed by the famous English architect Fred Hawtree in 1959, the first nine holes were completed in 1993 by another nine, the work of his son Martin. Set in undulating, wooded surroundings, the golf course presents two slightly different faces: the old 9 holes have small greens that require precise attacks, while the new 9 offers larger, more undulating greens. Relatively short, this par 71 is also attractive for the views it offers in places of the Glénan archipelago offshore. The friendly, family-run clubhouse, housed in an old manor house with authentic charm, is a must.
