Between Paimpol and the island of Bréhat, in the heart of the former presbytery of Ploubazlanec, plunge into the little-known but teeming world of contemporary merchant shipping. The temporary exhibitions will take you around the world's seas, listening to the people who sail them every day.
How do you board a merchant ship? What types of ship are used? What jobs do they do? Milmarin, the maritime discovery centre, invites you to discover the lives of seafarers, past, present and future. Interactive, fun and accessible to all, the visit to the two exhibitions takes you on a journey through local history and current maritime issues, using audiovisual testimonials, computer graphics, touch-screen tablets and virtual reality. All year round, there are activities, events and meetings to extend your visit. Nearby, the Wall of the Disappeared pays tribute to the Icelandic fishermen who perished at sea during cod fishing campaigns. A moving place that keeps their memory alive.
