Come and visit the old forge at Saint-Malon-sur-Mel and watch a demonstration of the techniques used in days gone by.

As you enter the building the light dims and you find yourself in the old forge. After years of silence, the sound of the hammer and anvil rings out once again, bringing the forge museum to life. Come and discover this unique universe, once an important element of everyday country life. The museum has a fully working forge where you can watch regular demonstrations. A sound and light show assists in rekindling the work of old Monsieur Duguet, once master of the forge. Telephone ahead to check out the times of the demonstrations which are really the highlight of the visit, for both young and old. Afterwards, spend some time in the information area, where a documentary film will help you learn more about the history of the forge and the techniques of the smithy.
