The only one of its kind in Brittany, this museum is dedicated to the wonders of the oceans. You'll discover an exceptional collection of over 14,000 shells from all over the world, 200 seabirds, sharks, fossils, minerals...
The Musée de l'Amiral is one of France's leading shellfish museums, thanks to the richness of its collections. More than 14,000 shellfish from all over the world are on display, from small shellfish from our coasts to large specimens from warm seas, not forgetting microscopic shellfish (visible thanks to a magnifying system). More than 200 birds from Brittany's coasts are showcased, in their natural environment and along a modern, interactive educational trail. Don't miss the astonishing fossils (ammonites, sea urchins, trilobites), the brilliantly coloured minerals, the surprising collection of crabs, the sharks with their frightening jaws, the deep-sea fish... After the visit, enjoy a delicious moment of relaxation on a deckchair overlooking Audierne Bay, unless you'd prefer to make a splash in the shop. Seashells, marine clothing and regional products are just some of the original gifts you can take home in your suitcase!
