Hop aboard the Napoléon Express! Between Pontivy and Auray, the line passes through woods, hamlets and green valleys. A peaceful ride on a retro train through the heart of little-known... but unforgettable Brittany.
On the platform in Pontivy, a little shiver of impatience hangs in the air. The Napoléon Express rattles the track, blows its whistle and off it goes: the colourful railcars of the 50s and 70s set off peacefully through woods, meadows and villages, bringing back to life a line that has been forgotten for over half a century. On board, you let yourself be lulled by the rolling of the carriage, watching the branches spread and greeting the people along the way. At 35 km/h, you've got plenty of time to breathe! From Auray to Pontivy, the train crosses Central Brittany gently, with possible stops at Quistinic, Saint-Nicolas-des-Eaux, Saint-Rivalain... You get off when the urge to wander takes over from the journey. The river Blavet meanders below, the undergrowth filters the light and the stations are full of charm. Available in summer, this train like no other runs a few days a week, so it's best to check the schedule online before boarding. It's an interlude supported by passionate volunteers: here, heritage is still on the move... and you're invited to slow down.
