Brittany in the spring?

Ajouter aux favoris

Of course!

Doze the afternoon away on a terrace. Explore an island. Enjoy a snack or two in the markets, splash about on the seashore – go on… just your feet! Reconnect with nature, with adventure. In Brittany, you recharge your batteries in springtime! And you savour the moment. Sports in the open air and island getaways: 10 out of 10 for addictiveness.

1. Let’s stuff ourselves at the markets

There we go – the markets have come back to life again! Make way for dedicated producers and a whole profusion of flavours. Strawberries from Plougastel over there, along with artichokes from Léon for your aperitif. Mackerel, crabs, winkles, piles of crepes – all fresh, all full of goodness. Special mentions to the Lices in Rennes, France’s 2nd biggest market, the Halles de Merville covered market in Lorient, supplied by the country’s leading fishing port, and the market in Dinard, which combines art of living with early seasonal produce and bright pink langoustines. You just have to make the trip!

2. Let’s get our energy and balance back facing the sea

Did you hear it? Reboot hour has struck. The call of the open sea and wellbeing. Sails are out and the breeze is blowing along the coastal trail… breathe in, breathe out. The sea air frees body and mind alike. For an all-round reset, it’s your call: yoga facing the ocean? Immersion in a heated seawater bath? Or a quick dip in the sea (brrr!) – that works too! So bring along your swimming costume, you’ll regret it if you don’t!

3. Let’s merge with nature… it’s sure to surprise you

Outside you go – and get a move on! By bike, on a hiking trail or on the water, Brittany won’t take long getting you out of your rut for a weekend. Hop onto the saddle for a gravel bike excursion, take a one-way trip or go kayaking on the Nantes-Brest Canal! The Arrée Mountains’ ridges are great for hiking, mountain-biking and trail biking, with bivouacking under the stars as an option… setting off again with good vibes in your trainers. Not forgetting the Plouha Cliffs alongside Saint-Brieuc Bay, coastal canyoning version… And a good strong dose of freedom on hand wherever you are.

Quick, a microadventure!

4. Let’s get back into the thick of the events and festivals that await us

That special ambience as the days get warmer… what does it herald? Terraces that come back to life. The perfect season to discover another aspect of the region: a festive, creative Brittany that’s resolutely alive. The festival calendar is filling up as we speak! Let start tapping our feet and take a bite out of Brittany’s festivals – a whole range of good vibes generators including Mythos, Panoramas, Art Rock, Petites Folies, Nuits Vilaines, Horizons Open Sea and God Save the Kouign.  A flurry of festivals chockfull of joyful mixtures and discoveries. 5. Let’s go and explore the islands before summer comes knocking

Feeling like playing the castaway? Stepping into a lighthouse keeper’s shoes, conquering an island long-distance hiking trail or losing your heart to a choice of culinary gems? Immediate departure! On a food trip to Groix, by bike to Arz, Ile aux Moines or Bréhat. In your binoculars, Northern Gannets and Atlantic Puffins in the midst of mating season, off the coast of Sept-Iles… Nature always sets the tempo for her treasures. Every second, a feeling of being on the edge of the world.
