Description
In June, discover Monterfil! A proverb without rhyme, but full of the festive spirit of Gallésie, and flavoured with strawberries, just as the exquisite local aperitif known as a ‘godinette’ demands. A Gallésien lifestyle that attracts some 20,000 visitors every year – who can beat that?
With more than thirty editions under its belt, this celebration of Gallo culture is, needless to say, no longer in its infancy. La Gallésie en fête is even gaining in stature every year, drawing thousands of visitors to each edition in a whirlwind of joy and exuberance. “No entrance fees, no barriers, no costumes,” proudly proclaims the festival, co-organised by three associations of party-goers (Au Carrefour de la Gallésie, La Jaupitre and the Centre d’activités communales). On the programme every year: music competitions, fest-noz and fest-deiz, cabarets and concerts, traditional games from Brittany and elsewhere, not to mention the traditional roast pig and the sacrosanct godinette. A delicious strawberry-flavoured aperitif, to leave you feeling completely at home in your Gallic culture… At home in Breizh.
